    I fixed this ...but it still doesn't work.....

    What exactly are you trying to do? The main method (public static void main (String[] args)) doesn't call any methods or have any code, so your program isn't doing anything at all right now.

    And you still need to fix Counter (int a, int b )

    But yeah, I'm not sure exactly what you want your program to do. You import a scanner that is never used, so I'm assuming you want the user to be able to enter some info, but you never really told us what you want your program to do.

    I meant..
     void int getValue()

        {

        return counter;

        }

    void int does not make any sense. void means it will return nothing and int means it will return an int. you probably want public int getValue(). also in the constructor you have parameter int B (capital) but then in the method you call it b (lower case) so that will not work either. =)

    I was wondering if you all could answer them for me with some explanation to help me out?

    I don't think anyone here is just going to give you the answers. This is pretty basic beginner java stuff and with little research you should be able to answer these pretty easily. For numbers 1 and 2, just do a google search on arrays and random numbers and I'm sure you'll find what your looking for.

    For number 3, just try compiling it yourself and see what output you get and then make sure you understand why. Number 4 is a little more difficult, but at least give it a shot and post your attempted code here, and people will be more likely to help you out =)
  4. In Topic: Sorting an array of doubles in descending order not working

    Posted 1 Nov 2012

    On line 24 you create double score = scoresArray[0]; but it never seems to be used so you should be able to get rid of that.
    On line 35, loopIndex needs to be initialized, just set it to 0 there. Also on line it looks like you accidentally typed indexLoop instead.
    On line 38, temp should be a double and oline 43, you might need to cast to int or change some other variables to doubles depending on what you want to do.

    But fixing those errors should at least get it compiled =)

    Excellent! Thank you pbl, this seems much more appropriate.
