What I'm also gathering from this is that PHP is not a bad language. It's like any language in that it's really up to the developer to make it work and whether it is also well-built for developer who intends to use it properly (as some languages are just plain bad and we don't know much about them because they aren't used).

Be it also it's very low entry barrier that allows shabby programmers to use it?

kensands Are you sure the issue wasn't just those developers who made a poor site and you were the good one? Did you omit any features or alter the methods on how it was done?

I'm not really the one developing it, so much coordinating it, jon.kiparsky :)

Can't anyone say that with any language? If learn well, it is fine and well to use. What would you say makes PHP outshine and actually really good, despite all the insane and harsh criticism?

I know all languages have flaws, but I'd also like to see how bad PHP's is, as there's only so much flaws a programmer and project can handle.

Haha yeah I'm sorry. Well I can't say too much but:

It plans things for certain groups of people in a very interactive manner. It's like a desktop app in a browser as such ... and will run in the cloud and be cross-platform later on.

Is that how sites do the powerful interactive stuff by using exec and bash? How are they all connected together with PHP (or whatever language is used).

I am trying to discover the right tool for the job, that's why I came to D.I.C :)

I know that. But programming languages are developed for a reason. I'm trying to understand and discover Ruby's true capabilities.
