    Or you could use the appletviewer - been ages since I've used that, but I remember it worked a treat.

    If the compiler objects to something, it'll tell you. If the compiler doesn't produce any output, your code has compiled.

    What is it you're having trouble with? What's the problem you're trying to solve?

    It would probably be better to post your error messages so we can better pick out the problems.

    Ok, so I ran the code, and all I get is the 52 cards..isn't it suppose to show a five card hand and pick the best poker-value given the 5 cards?

    Also can you show how royal flush can be done?

    you arte creating one dimensional arrays :) 2d arrays expected {{2,1,3},{23,4,6},{4,6}}

    Still getting incompatible types error when making the changes to the line of code in main method.

    int[][] hand = {5,7,2,6,8},{3,1,8,6,2};

    [code]int[][] hand = {5,7,2,6,8},{3,1,8,6,2};

    should be

    [code]int[][] hand = {{5,7,2,6,8},{3,1,8,6,2}};

    Read up on 2 and 1 dimensional arrays

    Yea, just forgot to enclose the curly braces again. But now I get ArrayIndexOutofBounds exception, but how can that be if I make the values reasonably low for the cards.
