  1. In Topic: Java Tutorials Request

Maybe this has been over asked, but i would like a java game making tutorial for two dimensional games. Specifically an RPG style game, Where you may use a sword, i would also like a tutorial on being able to insert sound and images into games, and have the images be solid objects. Like separate backdrop and stuff, those are just some tutorial ideas i guess. I don't know how often those have been asked.

You can try removing the dvd drive and the hard drive to see if one of those are causing the system not boot up.

If there are two sticks of ram you can try it one stick then the other stick.

If it still doesn't boot then signs are pointing to a dead motherboard. and yes those can be replaced and or repaired.

Let us know what you find.

    Will do

If the caps lock doesn't light up, I highly doubt that the 2nd lcd port will work.

Hmm, well do you have any idea as to what i could do? I'm thinking about just bringing it back but i want to see if there are any fixes i can do without going through all the trouble of trying to get a replacement

the computer itself turns on. But the screen displays nothing, and the keyboard doesn't seem to be taking any input.

If you press caps lock does the led come on indicating the keypress?

If you remove the memory (before powering on), do you get beeps when the unit is turned on?

Have you tried hooking up a 2nd monitor?

Have you tried booting with the battery removed? What about just on battery, no ac adapter?

If you try each of these things & get no beeps, & no Toshiba splash screen, then one of the core components are dead : CPU, Bus (Mother board), or Memory. If any of these three items fail, the unit will not POST (Power On Self Test), & does not boot.

I'll try that soon, I've just tried pushing caps lock and no light comes on. I will hook it up to another monitor soon. I might be able to bring it somewhere to get it fixed because this fix seems well out of my skill zone.
