  1. In Topic: HTML Image Element vs CSS Background-Image

    Posted 5 Feb 2013

    Andrewsw pretty much covered all of it, but I'd like to add that you should use IMG tag whenever you want it to serve as a link to another page or to expand into a lightbox. Backgrounds are also good for anything that repeats and is automatically on a layer behind the content. Using IMG tags are also much faster and can be indexed by search engines.

    vectorialpx- Can I use those pictures in a theme for download? Great job!

    Hmm.. too bad. The sites down. If you need better hosting get 000host - they're also free, and they have no ads.
  4. In Topic: Changing text script problem

    Posted 2 Jan 2013

    Did that work? Right off the bat I see
    <script language="javascript">

    should be
    <script type="text/javascript">

    and text[textid], well textid is a variable and it looks like it might be out of scope. Every time you declare a variable, use
    var name_of_variable = "value";

    Don't be scared of JQuery, it's much more stable than regular javascript, and you can interchangeably use BOTH javascript and jquery at the same time, as it's just an extension / framework of js.
  5. In Topic: What Version OF IE Do You Still Support?

    Posted 2 Jan 2013

    I support IE 10 only... heh well ok, I try to support at least 8 and 9, and I don't really care about 7. IE 6 is hopeless.
    You might want to check out prefixr to auto calculate cross browser css. I think you can use modenizr.js to teach older versions of IE the latest web standards, so you don't have to torturous ignore every breakthrough in web technology because IE doesn't support it.
