Disregard, I will just do it on a timer. Is there a way to check if the file is in use in another program using FileSystemWatch? -

First off, sorry for the quotes. A forum I frequent notifies people of replies if you quote them. Forgot not all forums were like that.
I have a game that saves out a file every few seconds. What I am doing is trying to check through the hex file to see if the internal contents are different. If they are, it will find out what is written at a certain point in the file, and it will grab the value at that point. This value also doubles as an address in a list, so it checks that address for a name, and writes the name in a label I have on my form.
However, since the file is saved out every few seconds, I have to check it a lot. I don't know how to check it every frame. -

No, what I'm doing is updating the scene if the files are different. -

Okay, what I am doing is making a copy of the file when the program starts, and I need to check if 1.ext is the same as 1c.ext. How would I go about doing that? -

I am trying to do that, but I am not sure how to do that. I have it declared as such:
FileSystemWatcher checker = new FileSystemWatcher("C:/Users/Self/Downloads/path/1.ext");
And I am getting "The directory name is invalid".
