I do not have any code yet, since I am trying to figure out how to use the shelve module. At the moment I have a txt file that I will be splitting the lines. Each line will have three fields, I will be using field 2 and 3 to populate a persistent dictionary. That is why I was wanting a url to read and see if I could figure this out. Any suggestions on how to start would be great. I'll also be checking out the site you posted. Thank you.

It's not a problem. The python forum here is less active than some others and it's nice to have something interesting to play with in python. I use java for most of my schoolwork, but I like python a lot better for most things and enjoy the opportunity to not look at java.

If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask. I don't work with python as much as I'd like so I enjoy it.

new question what is the difference between a dictionary and shelve?
