    Based on what I know, the 4th year students can scrape off data which they used for their mobile application thesis. I just don't know if they have the access to the database itself...

    This is just a personal project which I will recommend to the department if it is successful. I'm looking for a specific guide to read on for scraping off data using the page source.

    Why is (pow1/pow2) always equal to 1? try this:
    System.out.println(pow1);
    System.out.println(pow2);

    They have the same value. I think the minus 1 is not working for pow1 because of floating point issues. According to my research, you can fix this by using BigDecimal. I really don't know how to use this class. I'm just giving the error for now, let's just wait for another person to help :)/>

    First, you do not need to create multiple instances of the Scanner class. You can also eliminate the multiple variables by getting the input and parsing it at the same time.

    Example:
     double loanAmount, rate;

        Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in);
        System.out.print("Enter Loan Amount: ");
        loanAmount = Double.parseDouble(input.nextLine());

        System.out.print("Enter Rate: ");
        rate = Double.parseDouble(input.nextLine());

    Try to organize your code first. As for the formula, please give us a sample input and its expected output so we can see what's wrong with your code.
