  1. In Topic: Where to start with my app idea

    Posted 30 Jun 2015

As much as I love the idea of Tamarin or native app development, since you have *some* web background, it might be worth starting with a Hybrid mobile platform. Basically, it wraps a web browser around HTML, CSS, and Javascript. And you can target all the platforms with one language. This would be a good start until you become more familiar with coding. that is, if you want to roll your own code.

I do agree that sketching is ABSOLUTELY the best way to get started.

    Good luck.

Doesn't everyone just HATE third party libraries that your uninformed manager purchases and then is terribly documented?
  4. In Topic: converting C# code to python - need help

    Posted 17 Jun 2015

It looks like it just translates the languages one-to-one. And it assumes the classes are the same. As this is simply not true, I would recommend learning python to do this.

If you do, you might want to post it on Github and link here. I'm in agreement here.I think the best way to approach this problem is by extending ImageView (specifically the onDraw(Canvas) method). In onDraw, you might draw the second image first and then overlay the part of the first image that you want to display. This shouldn't be too difficult. :)

Take a look at the drawBitmap method. Simply store your images and then convert them the BitmapFactory class

My interests start with Computer Science, but I am also fascinated by discrete mathematics and nuclear engineering.

In addition to high-performance scientific computing, I really enjoy robotics and machine learning, and I am working on some really cool robotics applications!

Finally, I'm actually somewhat of a math aficionado. I really enjoy both discreet and continuous mathematics.
