After being a member here at DreamInCode for quite some time, I've finally decided to start a blog here. During my years of programming this site has helped me a lot, and I've always found the DIC blogs to be an interesting an enlightening read. My hope is that I can give something back to the community through this blog.
As for myself, my name is Sigurd Suhm, and I'm a Computer Science student living in Denmark. I'm 21, and I've been programming for 5-6 years I suppose. I started off when I was 15, and like with many others it was games that caught my interest. I gave Visual Basic 6.0 a shot and found it quite interesting. Somehow, I'm really attracted to the way of thinking required by a programmer.
Today I've been through a number of languages including VB.NET, C#, C/C++, Python, Java and more, and I suppose I feel most at home with C++ giving me both object oriented features as well as some low level memory control. Needless to say it also serves me well as a programming language for games, which is still one of my main interests.
When not studying I'm currently lucky enough to be working for a small game development studio known as SYBO Games, where we're working on an upcoming title for iPhone. My own programming projects are too numerous to list, however, I'm still playing around with game programming quite a lot. Also I'm a bit of a Linux enthusiast.
I hope you'll enjoy some of the entries in this blog and, please, feel free to comment at any time. Most of all I suppose the entries will be related to whatever I find interesting at the time of writing, but quite a few of them will probably have to do with game programming.
Thanks for reading and happy coding
Sigurd
