My First Steps with XNA

So I downloaded the XNA Game Studio, which is basically just a bunch of extra framework stuff for C#, and have started to tinker with it. I gotta say, I like it. The video tutorials on their website were informative and easy to follow. The best part is, no programming experience was assumed, which only made it easier for me (even though I had if and else statements explained to me, a concept I have set in stone a while ago.) I quickly made my way through the tutorial. and then set off building my own game. I chose a galaga like shooter, as it would let me review stuff I have learned, and let me figure some things on my own, which always rocks! I've got to say, Microsoft is starting to turn over a new leaf, what with Windows 7 not sucking, and now allowing a more "Open Source" approach to Xbox games. I leave this in quotes as this is not truly open source, but it opens their market to a much larger developer base, and consumer base because of it. You don't need to be a leader in the industry to get a game sold around the globe, all you need is an XNA account and some creative Ideas.

I'll post more as I delve deeper into 2D and 3D game creation, and If I come up with anything worthwhile, I'll let you all check it out!

Keep Coding,
~Bodom
