GLFW Running

Well, here it is: my fist blog entry of my first blog. I need to get my thoughts straight as I wade into the jungle of 3D programming, (for real this time. lol)

It took some tinkering, but I'm up & coding with GLFW2.7 using Code::Blocks under Ubuntu Netbook Edition. I have a desktop running Win7 & regular Ubuuntu, but this little netbook is what I use most often; so portable!

So far I'm experimenting with sample code to see what effect I make. I'm going to try & cross-compile to Win32 soon, & have even looked into running GLFW on Android. Looks like the maintainer of GLFW won't be doing that, thogh she's open to somene else doing it.

However, even with the promise of shiny toys, I can't maintain more platforms than I already do, so mobile ports would have to be done by (and maintained by) someone else.

So, the only way I could see is to run Xwin under Android. Doubtless there are more direct ways to develop widely cross-platform apps, (like Unity! :punk: ) but for now I'm sticking with GLFW since I wat to work at a lower level.

Also looking in ZThreads, an interesting library for handling concurrency. Still very hazy on how to tie multi-threading & OpenCL together, but I'm learning every day.

More later.
