1 Bricked Laptop

Icon 5 Comments
The screen of my laptop has decided to give up the ghost, strange though it happens after the warranty has run out.

Just typing away and the blackness descends.
Thoughts it may have over heated, so left it to cool down (8Hrs) - Nope
Turn it back on a not a sausage.

So I sent off an email to the manufacture tech support.
So I tell them everything thats happen and what I've tried.

Send us the POST error message!
How can I do that?

Now I to arrange for a courier to come and pick it up.

Also some of the stuff on it is not backed up.

A post error message is a sequence of beeps you should hear when you turn your laptop on after something has gone wrong. For example, if you turn it on, and you hear four beeps, then one beep, then one beep, your post error message would be 411.

Yeah, if that's the case. But if it was a fried CPU or something, you'd get a post error message.

Update: Got It back on Tue 2 Dec 2008

Arrived at work on Tuesday and there a big parcel for me, open it and its my laptop. (GOOD)
According to the paperwork they had to replace the System Board! (BAD)
I then realize that there hasn't been a stock delivery. (BONUS.)

So I spent most of the night in the back-office missing around on it.

According to the paperwork they had to replace the System Board!

The first thing I have to do is back up the data off it. Cos whilst its been away i realized the only copy of what i want was on it.
