Text-Based RPG Development Day #1

Icon 2 Comments
Hello, welcome to the first entry into my Development blog.

I've been working on this project for a few days already and so far I have added:
  • Added Basic Inventory System
  • The First Monster (Giant Rat)
  • Currency System
  • Your character has a randomised chance to land a critical hit, a normal hit, miss or land a hit that will take one damage away from your max hit.
  • Stats (At the moment, only Attack Damage, Defense, and Health Points) more to come soon.
  • Fully implemented Armor and Weapons that modify both your Defense stat (Armor) and Attack Damage stat (Weapons)
  • Added a randomiser that will drop a specified amount of gold differentiating between the levels (higher level monsters will drop more gold but will also be harder to kill).
  • Added a little bit of art to the menu screen that will make the screen look better then just a console.
  • Full equip system (Equip Weapons and Armor and you will receive bonuses to your Attack Damage and Defense)
  • Experience is added in (You get Experience Points from killing monsters which in the future will level you up)

Some things that are not implemented yet but are being worked on, some of them are:
  • Shop
  • Finish the Combat System
  • Add more monsters (There's going to be roughly 50+)
  • More Stats/Skills
  • Add Monster Levels
  • Add more randomisation
  • Add some colors
  • Add Level System (currently you can get Experience Points but there's only one level at the moment.)
  • Added a rare drop table (kill a monster and you have a small chance at receiving something you can either use or sell to the shop for money.)
  • Add More Weapons
  • Finish/Rework Inventory System
  • Going to build it then make game saves.
  • Add more Text Art (Future)
  • One day I might even make this game 2D or 3D

Just know that I'm still very new to using C# and I'm a single person, I've been working on this for 4-5 days or so now, so it's not going to be the best game but I'm loving the progress I'm making every step!
NOTE: If you have any suggestions for me to add to my to-do list or anything that could be changed to work better, just ask.
- Anthony
