I'm often told that responses I provide (both here at Dream.In.Code and in "real life") are short and as a result, often come off as rude or terse. Allow me to reassure you that [most of the time] this is not the case. As a speaker, as a programmer, as an individual tasked with the mission of providing information to others, it is my duty to convey that information as clearly and succinctly as possible.

Ever hear that? It means that you are losing your audience. If what you have to say is more then what "will fit in their box", anything you say after they hit their "information overload" point will be ultimately frivolous. If you need a visual, pretend the person in question will put their fingers in their ears (literally) as soon as they have heard too much. La La La La!
We all know people who "go on and on", especially when relaying anecdotes. We all try to avoid them because they drone on; most of the time unaware. Don't be that guy. If you have something to say, then say it and move on. Simply because we live in a time where words are plentiful and cheap; (I could type forever on this blog, only costs me time) there is no excuse to be long-winded.
I was sent this the other day and it sums up this post rather well:

It's okay to come right out and call me a windbag, you don't have to go to blogging measures to get the point across.

Dang it, I thought the + was for the blog post. BenignDesign, my bad. Even though it was a positive, still.

The rep system. The comments have a + or - on them. Mine do at least.
