All of my hardware at home is quite outdated. It is time for a new build.
I have the following making its way to my door courtesy of the good people of Newegg:
Intel i7-4770k Haswell
ASUS z87 mobo
32 GB DDR3 RAM
Samsung 256GB SSD
Geforce GTX 780
27" LED monitor
Ohhhh boy, it's going to be smoking. Develop and play all the things! Pics when I get this assembled next week.

Nice. Though as everyone knows I'm a big proponent of how multiple monitors are the best source of productivity improvements. I have 3 x 24" on my desk, routed to both the server and the laptop. That means the laptop really has 4 screens if you count the built-in.
There is nothing like having so much real estate that you don't spend your time moving x to see y. And letting Visual Studio have an entire monitor just for pallets. I love being able to run an app under development and give it its own monitor and still watch Visual studio with nothing covering it.

this is almost my current setup. Except I have an Asus sabertooth 990FX and a AMD FX-8350. If I had gone with. If I had chose Intel instead of AMD we would have had the same mobo.
Sense you have the RAM and HDD space/speed you should try sorting some greater than 32 GB arrays. Takes a while but very cool to see how fast your rig is.

While I worked for my schools housing and dinning department doing web dev we initially only had 2 monitors but we had to play with 3 things: web browser, code, and the MySQL workbench. We finally convinced them to give us 3 and everything went so much smoother. I got far less distracted too sense there was no fussing with extra windows.

Just bought the exact same build here in Bolivia today. I had an old pc as my dev machine and thought it was time to upgrade. I snagged all the bits for $1085 sans the video card which they only have the nvidia 600 series cards.
The nvidia gtx 700 series arrive next week and I'm _definitely_ going to snag one. I'm a programmer god dammit, I should have the best specs out there!
SSD speed really is a world apart. I'm still amazed at how fast Photoshop, Visual Studio loads to a usable state. The 32gb ram and ssd scoffs at resharpers solution analysing.

Did you use the stock CPU fan that comes with the 4770K? If so, how well has it worked for you?

And I also picked up a 27" 2560x1440 monitor. Grabbed a Qnix. The Korean monitors are so much more affordable. Gotta say, I'm also a big fan of multimonitor, but one big one is pretty nice too.
I've got mine overclocked to 4.5Ghz and it's nice and stable. Also got the monitor "overclocked" to run at 110Hz.
Just got to deal with a few issues, one DIMM isn't registering and the HDD somehow isn't connected. Also going to add a tacky green light to the case just for the cool/douche factor.
