Started learning....

Icon 2 Comments
I'm learning how to do web stuff now. Setting up a local web server was a pain in my ass, and as far as I'm concerned, still isn't installed right. :( Oh well.

I'm learning MySQL and PHP as some of you might know, and I have installed WAMP on my compy (still fucked up though). Using this, I'm planning on using said mini-site to learn. My first goals are to:
  • Make a basic web stie using HTML/PHP/CSS
  • Make a database for users
  • Make a login page for users and get that to store user info
  • Make a crApplet :P to just make a "mini-game" simulator, basically, I'm just gonna make it record how many times a user can press space in a minute.
  • Make a database for the game, which records the high scores
  • Make a table to display the top __ users and their scores on the site
This is just a list of ideas and goals to work for right now, and it wont be secure, and with practically no protection.

This is what I have so far... (playing around with gradients and the caligriphic pen in GIMP)

<html>

<head>

	<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="test.css" />
	<title>Neo's First PHP Site!</title>

</head>

<body>

<p>
<img src="header.png" />
</p>

</body>

</html>

body 	{
	background-color: #FFCCFF;
	background-image: url(gradient.jpg);
	background-repeat: repeat-x;
	color: #660000;
	}

Very basic so far. >_>

That's a nice choice... 2 years ago I started PHP/HTML thing with WAMP (those days I had windows)... I made a nice CMS for my school's website after 2 months since I started learning them, so that's not that hard. Wish you be successful on making your website! Hope to see it get uploaded for public soon :D
Edit: btw, there is a new method for using these CSS things inside the html code... it's more easy, I found it at w3schools.com
