Hello World!
I joined dreamincode a few days ago and its been one heck of an experience up to now!!
I can't believe there are so many geeks in one community and i'm totally thrilled to be here. I am still learning on my PHP and MySQL to start creating my own web applications and mods for my favourite forum system...SMF!
I have tried to learn programming for a while now, couldn't finish a book that I got a year ago! Not all of it is my fault, my life has not been very stable of late, seems every day is a hassle over here. Guys, Africa is so different in a lot of ways you can't even imagine. I didn't have a computer for the most part of my teen years that's why. If I had, trust me I would be proficient in a dozen languages by now.
I will keep updating and enlightening you folks on the situation on the ground here in Africa but it's quite a nice place if one can adapt and be content with the little that's available
. I feel there is so much potential here though, since many of the countries are still developing, however slowly, for web entrepreneurs. If you can setup base here which is what I am planning on doing, you can get lots of clients and actually earn some buck.
I haven't tried blogging in all my life! lol! I have been running a few sites, started when I was in high school and i'm still going. The only thing that irked me was that I couldn't modify softwares like Joomla, PhpBB fully so I closed up shop and decided to get some knowledge first then go full throttle!
I hope to keep fighting and to one day develop this lovely continent.
