Tonight, I installed Visual Studio 2010 Pro as part of my student software bundle. I have done nothing interesting with it, or even really used it. However, I now have Microsoft development tools on my computer. This is big. Not just big- huge. It will get even bigger if I start *gasp* learning Microsoft's .NET languages. C# is the most likely.
So for all of those interested- I now have Visual Studio installed.

This is big!
From Java now mac will dominate the .NET world. It's not an if, it's a when. Well, good luck!

Good luck man. I used to develop applications for Windows Mobile using C#. Now I'm developing Android and iOS applications using HTML5 and jQuery. Felling a lot better

Suddenly I feel my position at the top of the C# rep list is in danger.
@nathan, give Win7P development a shot. It's a lot better than classic Windows Mobile.
@Mac, good for you. Make sure to get the service pack. Also, if you do get into serious development with it. consider Resharper. It's not necessary, but it is awesome.

I started using Visual Studio 2010 ultimate a few weeks ago, and I must say that I miss a lot of the functionality from eclipse
The most annoying part for me is that it doesn't suggest classes from namespaces you haven't imported yet.
I would suggest installing the Productivity power tool extension (Tools -> Extension manager)
it offers you options like auto bracket completion (I loooooooooooove that

Visual Studio does all those things, it's just located somewhere else in the IDE.

I miss the days of visual studio

ReSharper extension will give you both of those.
nArrange is also handy for cleaning up code and is free.
