DVD-RW burning problems

Posted 20 April 2009 - 05:41 AM

Hello guys

I have a certain problem in burning DVD-RW's at 1x. All the minimum speed i get is 2x. I am trying to burn Windows Vista on a Sony-DVD-RW disc. I am advised to burn at 1x or the Windows installation wont work. I have tried to burn at 2x and i get the same old error of Cannot find or read file install.wim. My burner is Sony Optiarc. Any help would be appreciated.

You might be better off installing Vista with an authentic, purchased disc.

Which would be more worth it?
1. Buying Vista or,
2. Buying the special equipment to burn the disc and then realizing that it cost ore than buying a disk.

What's funny is that you are having trouble bootlegging an OS. Assuming that you've also pirated your DVD burning software, you can't exactly ask their help desk/support, which is one advantage to actually having purchased software.

So rather than ask them, you ask here, a forum of software developers. You are asking the ones whom feel the most burn from software piracy, & you wonder why we have an attitude & won't help you.

Purchase your software, ask support of the ones whom support the product.

Best of luck, closing this topic as it's going nowhere.
