[JOB] Contract - Web Prorgrammer

Realtime Worlds — creators of the no. 1 hit game Crackdown, are looking for a WEB PROGRAMMER to join our team on a 9- to 12-month contract on our next ground breaking title, APB: www.apb.com.

Applicants must have experience of working on a high-load, high-availability website. Applicants should have the technical knowledge to design components of the site, and the ability to create them.
Responsibilities:

* Technical design and execution of components of the web service for a next-generation MMO based on the requirements of the development team.
* Work with game software engineers to integrate the website and the game.
* Work with artists and designers to achieve high quality website presentation.

Qualifications Required:

* Preferably a good BSc or equivalent in a relevant subject.

Experience Required:

* 2+ years web programming experience, including work on the development of at least one large, high-volume (50K+ unique page views per month), public facing website with a database back-end that presents dynamic information to users.
* Must have experience of defining database schemas and migrating data to deal with changes over time.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

* Experience with either Microsoft™ (e.g. asp .NET, IIS) or Unix-like (e.g. LAMP) web environments.
* Excellent knowledge of Javascript (ECMAScript), HTML/XML, CSS and AJAX-related technologies (JSON, XMLHTTPRequest, etc.)
* Experience in relational database design and SQL.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to take a design for a section of a website and translate that into a specification for implementation.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.

Knowledge of the following areas a plus:

* Experience of working on a MMO game web service.
* Experience with developing usability aspects of a website.
