AP Exams

Posted 04 May 2009 - 11:26 AM

May is definietly testing month. For many of us high school students, AP Exams are coming up. I know I'm freaking out, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. So in this thread, discuss your upcoming AP exams, any prepwork your doing and any anxieties you may be feeling. Also, make sure to note what grade you are in.

I'll start off. I'm a high school sophomore and I've got the AP European History exam coming up this Friday (5/8). This past weekend, my teacher had review sessions at Panera Bread. We were there from 10-4:30 on Saturday and 12-4 on Sunday. I'm nervous, but I think I can pull out a 4 or 5.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

I've got the AP Comp. Sci. test tomorrow morning. Then Friday I have AP US History. I'm hoping to pull out of tomorrow's test with a 4, same with Friday's.

I have an AP Biology final next monday. We already took our final exam so I know what I need to study for the AP exam.

Get yourself a Cliffs review book and read the whole thing.

I can't really contribute much to this thread as I am currently a freshman and won't have to worry about his until next year, but can anyone comment on the level of difficulty of this course? The syllabus doesn't make it look too challenging, but from what I've heard its a pretty intense course.

(I don't mean to hijack this thread, sorry if I do unintentionally)

The syllabus is not too challenging, it should prepare you for the exam fully. I doubt there's anything you'll miss. Look at it this way, if you don't do well on the Comp. Sci. A exam, you can take it the following year. Well, I'm off to study...

If you are coming from Chemistry then AP Bio will overwhelm you. You don't have to read the chapter every night and study for hours on end. (Well maybe for the AP exam)

It does get easier. After a while it will feel normal.

[edit] What course are you talking about?

Oh, sorry. I didn't see your post about AP Bio. I was referring to AP Computer Science A

On my microeconomics AP test a couple years ago, I gave up all hope and drew pictures in my book instead of writing essays.

How did everyone's APs go? The Computer Science A wasn't bad at all, hopefully I earned a 5. The Case Study on free-response questions was not hard whatsoever. I might have run into a bit of problems with a few recursive problems, but I think I eventually solved them.

The AB was a nightmare…I'm hoping I scraped up a 3 :) It wasn't overly difficult (til the very last question) I was just having trouble generating code under the time restraints. Anyone else take the comp sci's yesterday?
