I don't know why people associate it with immature little fanboys

Because us older geeks played D&D & other pencil & paper RPGs. Their younger brothers seemed to play the card games. That's why I always though it got looked down upon.

That's why the old Iron Crown "Lord of the Rings" game and Magic the Gathering edge out in better. There's some real skillz.

(both are still dbag games but slightly less dbag because they are from back in the day)

D&D was awesome! also, Marvel (especially X-men/Wolvie) FTW!!!

I still have my smartBASIC cassette tape from my old ADAM computer(made by Coleco Vision) from '85
It's what got me into programming :)
I also have an original run Millenium Falcon and the Voltron Lions!

BTW: I loved Thundercats and Masters of the Universe(He-man) as well. Always wanted Lion-o to fight He-man :P

@no2 pencil: I recently got the newest edition of D&D. I play it all the time. I've played it with my friend's 8 yr old brother, even though it says 12+. He gets it OK... Well he does get confused but that's not the point! But keeping to the topic, I have 3 huge tubs of LEGO and I'm still playing with it and buying more! (P.S. Huge Magic: The Gathering Geek here!)

LOL. I had the original set of "AD&D" books. Sturdy, unkillable, hard cover things that some parents thought must contain Satanic evil. ( Ok, there was Asmodeus in the MM... ) THAC0 was an innovation, the original tables let some classed hit two or three different ACs with the same number.

I still have some of the blue plastic dice that came with the original cheesy boxed sets. You couldn't read the numbers, so you had to color them in with crayon. Later sets came with the crayon! Our d20 eventually wore away all the pointed bits and you had to wait a while for it to stop rolling.

I liked reading the X-Men comics. Still have a real liking to Beast, before he turned blue. :P

Stan Lee is a legend.

what series/issue # are you on?

Haven't bought one in a while. However, I've been watching Wolverine and the X-Men on TV. I did get every one of the Rogue and Gambit Limited edition series in the 90s. Rogue would have to be my absolute favorite X-Man(woman?). Beast would be a close second.

wait, which cartoon are you watching? the one one when i was young always had beast as blue. man was it sad when morph died.

mostly i just wanted to know if you were reading the uncanny stuff or the new ultimate stuff. a couple years ago i stuck with the ultimate stuff thru the first 12 volumes or so, it was surprisingly excellent.

i never read the uncanny stuff outside of a couple different annuals. too much continuity.

I've watched three cartoons. One where beast was blue, morph died and rogue was able to fly. The second one was called X-Men evolution. In the start Beast wasn't blue, he was a high-school teacher but he did turn blue. Rogue was still a teenager. The newest one is Wolverine and the X-Men. It is on a channel that is called YTV here. There was a massive explosion and the X-Men were disbanded. Wolverine is trying to bring them all back together. It is pretty cool.

I actually read the first X-Men series for a while. I've read a couple others too. I'll go find my collection and see what the last series I have is.
