It really doesn't make sense...plus, add in the fact that some of the people may be falsely accused, and you've got a situation that's better left alone.
Also, I'm a pretty firm believer that it's human tendency to want what you can't have. I honestly think if people backed off and let others 'pirate' software, less would do it. You'd still have those who do it for convinience sake, but you lose those who do it to spite the government, to prove a point that they can.

Also the same point I've made, there's people doing it because there's companies that don't want them to do it.

I did see you mentioned something about that before. I don't really know what else to say on the topic, I don't feel either party is right or wrong, only different viewpoints.

I reckon a price reform will happen once people come to realise globalisation of markets has happened as a result of the internet. The sheer volume of the markets available to particularly music and film artists would suggest that a price drop would still not harm business as it would expose them to more and more trade, instead these companies are trying to overcapitalise on the internet and its distribution ability. Instead they should simply be using it to cut their overheads and limit the physical distribution of packaged goods. Why make plastic containers and spend mega millions shipping goods around the world ? I mean does it not make sense just to slowly phase that out completely, hell it would be better for the planet if we didn't ship raw forms of products around and the cost of $1 per album would even be profitable considering the fact instantly your market is in the billions of prospective buyers. Even if only 100million people bought it, well thats still massive rather than relying on retail to sell a $20 cd that they have bought from a supplier for $10 that the supplier has bought from the manufacturer for $7 of which $2 is shipping, $3 is related advertisements and the remaining $2 is for the artists and management.
It has to be a better solution for all, except this would harm retail - not that this has not already happened, you can't stop the inevitability of where these media markets are headed.

Allow me to be the first person to give this advice.
Unless you want to see 30 posts ripping you to shreds for no reason, the Heated Topics forum is not the place for funny lolz posts.

If you're so bored Theaegd, why don't you work on your "better than GIMP, Audacity, Photoshop, Real-life" project instead of reviving dead threads?
Or you could just go to 4chan to get into your desired flame war.

So, companies like Ubisoft should spend millions upon millions on development and R&D and shouldn't be allowed to charge for that? I can tell you haven't been a software developer for long, have you? Ever heard
