im running windows xp and suddenly started to have some serious driver issues so i reinstalled windows xp and upgraded my driver after the restart the computer started to do the same thing it was doing before i reinstalled windows; giving me a black screen as soon as windows loaded from boot, didnt have enough time to even login. the monitor does not detect an input.
I assumed that the issue was direct x or framework but both where updated before the driving was installed. any suggestions?

Try booting into safe mode.
If that works, then either your video settings refresh rate is out of bounds *beyond the monitors capability*, or you could have it setup with dual monitors & the wrong one is the main input.

I have an nvidia card, but I had the same problem, the computer would boot fine and get to the windows screen, accept the password and go black in ~minute. Turned out to be a driver issue.

If you're getting a monitor signal on boot (as in you can see the POST screen) then the monitor is fine.
A common issue when updating drivers is that they will use the maximum resolution that they can by default without even detecting it from the monitor.
What I would recommend is to boot into VGA mode (F8 on Windows startup). Set your resolution, then restart.
Hopefully this will fix your issue.
