What kind of video card do I need?

Post icon  Posted 21 May 2009 - 03:07 PM

Hi I am trying to upgrade my video card so I can play the Sims 3, but I'm having the hardest time trying to figure out what kind of video card I need, Dell Tech support was no help so I was wondering if anybody could I.D. what kind of specific graphics card I would need.

Here is the image of my slot, I have a Dell Dimension E310, I know it's not a PCI Express because I've already purchased one. Alot of people say its just a regular PCI I'm just having a hard time trying to figure out. Thanks

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

wow that is a blurry image! And that is 1 big dust ball.

Looks like an AGP slot to me, you may have trouble finding a video card for it, they barely make motherboards that have PCI video card slots any more.

There is a list of them on newegg:

I used to run a Radeon 9500, it is a 128mb card, but now it is in my server. What does sims 3 require?

Do you still have your old graphics card? If you google the model number on that you could easily figure out what port that is. Also, how much money do you have to spend on a video card?
