so you post an off-topic message to tell other people to get back on topic? :blink: :D

anyway, all I have to say is that I believe "organised" religions are a hoax, made up by people centuries ago to control the public and make them behave the way they wanted them to.

If you feel deep down inside that you would believe what you believe, even without the influence (read "brainwashing") from the bible, church and that stuff, then thats ok.
But if you go to church because you have to, because you were raised that way, and live exactly by the bible then I say you are not a true believer in what you say you believe.

the bible IS a book written by man and I don't think church is the house of god, why would he need a house in the first place?

Believe what YOU believe and not what others say you SHOULD believe.

I've always thought of it this way. If it is a scam, then damn. Give the man props because he created a scam that now consists of billions of people. Right? Of course, I believe in God with or without organized religion so for me it's irrelevant.

You are both correct. As I have said before, and will say again, God does not dwell in a building once a week, but in the body of his people, the true 'church'. and religion is opiate for the masses. True Christianity is about a real, authentic relationship with a living God. It does not require going to a building or giving lots of money.

A pastor once told me that it involves going to church with church being defined as a study group with two or more people.

You know, my friends and I were talking last summer. We were talking about Jesus and how he is everywhere, then we make a remarkable discovery:

Jesus is in your pants.

When you say "in my head", you don't mean like mouth or anything?!

religion = fear of death

fear of death = ignorance

ignorance = religion

You know, stuff like this always amuses me. Let me start by saying that I have no fear of death beyond what all humans have. As humans, everyone has some 'amount' of fear over death. The only ignorant thing is assuming someone can have 'no' amount of fear for death. We're animals, animals don't like to die - to oversimplify it.

Yes, religion. I will direct you to my earlier post

I am not afraid of Death. I will welcome him like an old friend. What is there to fear? I know that I will not die until my purpose is fulfilled. Multiple times I should have been dead, and was not allowed to die.... :(
