how to retrieve data from database using ajax without submit

Hi,

I am new to Ajax Program.I need how to retrive data from database using ajax.Is it possible to get the data from database .Please give me any sample code.

Well first of all AJAX involves Javascript, not Java. They are two separate things. Second, you don't call the database directly with the AJAX, instead you call a page (like a PHP or ASP or JSP) that will then establish the connection to the database and return a result.

To get you started I suggest you read a wonderful little tutorial at W3Schools which explains AJAX, how to use it and shows you code for calling other script pages. It is those pages which will access the database and create a response in the form of standard HTML or XML results.
