My new digs.

Posted 06 June 2009 - 09:31 PM

Some of you regulars have probably noticed that I haven't been around too much as of late. Between work, getting things ready for major surgery later this summer, and now moving, I've barely been on the internets at all outside of the office.

So last week I moved into my own apartment that's a bit closer to work in a town called Finlayson - about 45 minutes south of Duluth for those familiar with Minn. I've lived in apartments before with friends & roommates but this time around it's just me, myself, and I. I'm pretty stoked about it for the most part. I officially finished unpacking this afternoon so I thought I'd take a few pics to share. The apartment is tiny, but its efficient, clean, and its on my work's cable plant which means I get free HD Cable/DVR/Movie Channels, 8 Mbit/1.5 Mbit internet, and digital phone service. Heat is electric and it isn't included in the rent, in the arctic wasteland that is Minnesota efficiency is vital so the brand new appliances and small size should help.

I really wish I had a nice TV/Computer set-up like that! Pretty much everything you'll ever need within 5 feet of each other. LOL, I'd never leave that one spot!

I love them. I've been wanting the set for a while, just never had a place to use them in. Silverware is IKEA FÖRNUFT, IKEA RIVAL chopsticks on the cup there for those wondering if they are pencils.

My ex's mom has those cabinets. Yea, it's very nice and clean. My moms tryna get me to move into some cracked out low income apartments. As if! I used to babysit at those and I feared for my life! Also, the woman left for a few weeks and when she came home her apartment was bare! They even stole all her kid's toys. :( I hope yours is a safe apartment.

That is by far one of the cleanest, best decorated, most color-coordinated bachelor pads I have seen in my time. Well done! You could probably pull in some extra money by teaching regular bachelors how it's done. :D

He just moved in.

Lets see pics in 6 months.

My money says the plates end up in the bedroom & the tv ends up in the kitchen. Just going with my male gut-instinct on this one.

I'm a very obsessive & clean person. This is how it will always look. Unfortunately.

You missed the "color coordinated" part.... unless his mother picked out his kitchen essentials, this man has his shit together. Besides which, I have lived with my share of men... brothers, roommates and domestic partners... and I haven't met one who even unpacks his stuff, let alone arrange, organize and color coordinate it.

FÖRNUFT is swedish for 'Reason' as in being reasonable.

The bedframe is also IKEA, right?

They were reasonably priced :)

The bed is IKEA MALM. Most of my kitchen stuff is IKEA, I got the TILLAGA startbox, which is awesome. The little stands in my room are IKEA, along with the light next to my bed.

Lots of IKEA goodness.
