Instead of saving to c:\ why not save them in My Documents could solve the UAC problem.
Until it doesn't require UAC turned off, I'll consider it Malware.( :v: )
It's more than likely illegal as its similar to what Pirates Bay do.

Actually, the pirate bay hosts several of the torrents they offer (seeding them), so they're by far breaking more of the law than just giving you a link to a torrent would be.

Yours,
Shane~

Thanks for the feedback. I'll be sure to look into that. What would a universal adress for XP/Vista would work? I'm not sure what adress is usable by both operating systems. I'll fix it so it doesn't require UAC off (appareantly some people still use it).

On the legal side, I don't think what I'm doing is illegal. I'm just taking shortcuts in Google. No tracker, hosted files, indexer, nothing. Just shortcuts. :D

It seems incompatible with Windows 7. I tried it out and when I clicked Download and got an error message, I clicked continue and nothing happened.

Thanks for the information xHeart.

I'm not familiar with 7, but does it have UAC or something similar like Vista? Do you mind copy+pasting what there error is? I suspect it's the I/O error Vista users get when UAC is turned on.

Try turning UAC off, and trying it again. It should work.

If I search for Iron Man I get a message saying "Movie Not Found. Please make sure you wrote the title correctly" but Iron Man still shows up in the window.

When I click download it says "Unhandled Exception has occured in your application. n If you click continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediatly."

To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

That's strange. I've never received those errors before. I'll have to do some testing in VMWare in 7 so it works properly. Thanks for the help. :D

No problem. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but I don't know software programming... just Web programming.

Nah, don't worry about it. I'll hunt down those bugs and make it work in 7 next release. Maybe. Hehehehe.

Can anyone who's more advanced shed some light into this error? Does Windows 7 function differently to Vista? Why would FF work in Vista and not in 7?

Thanks. :D

I'd focus on this bit, personally. You referencing a file somewhere that xheart might not have?

Perhaps it's something to do with UAC stuffs, haven't played with Windows 7 yet.

Probably 7 isn't allowing FF to download the .torrent, FF then tries to open a non-existant file.

So, why doesn't this work in 7 again?

Actually you're doing the same as Pirate Bay, you're giving people an easy means to access pirated material, which is the same as pirating it yourself (no matter how you chose to rationalize it)

I beg to differ Psycho.

ThePirateBay: Tracker, Searcher, Torrent Manager, Links, etc.

FastFlick: Only uses IMDB and ThePirateBay's Searcher, nothing more.

I can understand why people would think my software is illegal but I'm not doing anything but downloading something by using someones webservice.
