Rationalize it however you wish, you are facilitating the downloading and use of pirated content, plain and simple, and that's not something we support here at Dream.In.Code

I beg to differ Psycho.
ThePirateBay: Tracker, Searcher, Torrent Manager, Links, etc.
FastFlick: Only uses IMDB and ThePirateBay's Searcher, nothing more.
I can understand why people would think my software is illegal but I'm not doing anything but downloading something by using someones webservice.

Bingo.. you are downloading protected content. For right or for wrong that is not legit. Your program has been tainted by your intent and you allowing access to protected materials.

I'm not actually downloading anything that is copyrighted or intellectually owned by anyone. All it downloads is a .torrent file. But if you says so...

Psycho might be obviously overzealous when it comes to copyright stuff, and being a mere tracker to illegal downloads may still be legal in your country, but at Dream.In.Code you can't lead people to illegal downloads no matter the relative moral principle simply because Dream.In.Code is a United States based website.
This website has little to do with pirating/espionage or whatever you will call it, or the legal and moral battle over copyright and freedom. You can talk about it, but you can't lead people to the actual source. The owner decided to adhere to the law in this degree by complying with the copyright law in the United States.

Well if you knew that it wasn't allowed here, why did you post it on DreamInCode?

I didn't "put" anything in any of my posts. :S
All I did was say that I finally appeared on Google, that's it.

You facilitate the search & download of copyrighted material, which is by illegal by nature.

I can see where you're coming from
Trust me, I know I'm helping people download things, I'm just a little taken back by the hostility some people are showing me. What gives?
Are you this mad at the creators of LimeWire, Ares, etc.? I'm sure at least 80% of you use a P2P software.

Dream In Code is a software development site. Most of the folks here are professional software developers, the exact people that software piracy effects. How can you not understand that?

Those guys created (are using) a specific protocol for file transfer. Generally speaking they are not doing anything illegal. The same would be for HTTP or FTP - you cannot blame the creators of these protocols for the fact that there is still illegal copies of software and multimedia content transmitted over these protocols. Thoretically and legally, they do not facilitate the download of illegal content. You, from the other side, clearly mention, that you help locate copyrighted material and then download it.

I'm really not sure how you got to this fact but you really cannot affirm this. Considering that you brought this up, doing something illegal is still illegal, even if many others are doing this.

Movies, games, software... it's all warez my friend.
You want to develop tools to illegally download software piracy, developers are not going to like it.
