You can store images in a database in a couple of methods...binary is the most common...this thread discusses a similar topic, including some common problems with storing images as data in a database as opposed to a structured file system.

vry simple way to save image in oracle.
create table in oracle as following:
create table picture(id number(2),image varchar2(200));
table created.

now open ur vb6.0.
go to project->components->Microsoft Common Dialog control 6.0.
select that check box and click ok.

Private Sub cmdbrowse_Click()
cmdlg.DialogTitle = "Browse for profile picture"
cmdlg.Filter = "JPG Files (*.JPG) |*.JPG"
cmdlg.ShowOpen
Image1.Picture = LoadPicture(cmdlg.FileName)
Text1.Text = cmdlg.FileName
End Sub

so here you will get the path of the picture in text1.text and save that path alone in oracle at image column. then you can retrieve the image..
try it will work
