Cannot install Visual C# 2008 Express(with SP1) on Windows 7
Posted 27 June 2009 - 07:18 AM
I start the installation and after few seconds a message box appears on the screen saying that visual c# cannot be installed
I'm using Windows 7 RC. I don't receive any specific errors, only this "Setup could not install the following component: Microsoft Visual C# 2008...." Does anyone know what's wrong?

Weird, it works on my Windows 7 RC (Build 7100) copy.
Which build# are you using?

I had the same issue over this past weekend. I got through most of the install process, but item 8 of 9 gave me an error, something along the lines of a compatibility issue. It also pointed me in the right direction of the software I would need to correct it. So I downloaded the software, uninstalled the pieces that installed up until that point and I plan on trying again this week when I've got some time to really sit down and pay attention to it.
