So when I was in cali someone fried my computer and now it wont turn on. all signs point to wasted mobo so i need a new mobo and a new processor.
i need something thats atx form factor, i want an athlon 64 thats >= 2.0Ghz. I also want it as cheap as possible. the ram in the computer still looks good, i have ethernet, audio, video, everything as extra pci cards, so i need 5 or more pci slots, but i dont need onboard anything pretty much. i have a huge thermaltake fan/heat sink that looks like it still works and hope to use that again, but it isn't necessary. i also really want usb 2.0 so i can finally take full advantage of my ipod.
i also have 4 optical drives, i dont have to use them i really only use two regularly but if i could get it all up on a combination of ide and raid that would be muy excellente.
SO HOOK A BRUTHA UP WITH MOBO/PROC SUGGESTIONS.

Have you tried a replacement Powersupply?
Most of the time it is just a shit Powa supply.
And on the motherboard Anything DFI they are Pricy but OMG are they sweet boards.
I have the DFI lanparty Nforce 4 sli - dr
But if you do go with a DFI motherboard you will need a beefy powersupply. as they are fully ATX2.0 power complient 24 pin power for the motherboard. but OC options galore not for the faint of heart.

here is the motherboard with out SLI it is $125
