dual boot. YES.
i thought it was funny though that they said they had been maintaining osx on x86 for the last 5 years.

Bad move for Apple. They have the upperhand right now, you have to buy their hardware to run OSX... I know thats the main reason I just bought a mac.

Well it is a unix kernel and it would really need compiler flags and some tweaking to get it to x86
All the Mac people I know are heart broken.
I was about to get a mac to run linux-ppc because of RISC and now they are moving to CISC and thats just dumb, I guess I'll be getting a sparc instead.
Oh and how big are the G6s going to be, they are gonna need alot of fans and heat sinks for the prescott

Jobs then confirmed a long-held belief that Apple was working on an Intel-compatible version of Mac OS X that some have termed “Marklar.”
Mac OS X has been “leading a secret double life” for the past five years, said Jobs. “So today for the first time, I can confirm the rumors that every release of Mac OS X has been compiled for PowerPC and Intel. This has been going on for the last five years.”
IT IS ALREADY DONE!!! OSX SHALL BE OURS!

"[Apple Senior Vice President Phil] Schiller said the company does not plan to let people run Mac OS X on other computer makers' hardware. "We will not allow running Mac OS X on anything other than an Apple Mac."
