Password Protection in Vista

Posted 06 July 2009 - 08:27 AM

We use a small number of computers all using Vista Home Premium. As with other features that might have been useful, Microsoft has removed the folder password protection that was available in Windows XP, and the folder encryption options that are available in high-end versions of Vista.

So, does anyone know of any decent (ideally free) third party software to password protect files or folders in Vista?

Thanks,
Bort

Well, as mentioned before you will have to use third-party software to accomplish this.

Or use a workaround and change the user permissions for that specific folder so that only a specific user group can access it (not sure if this is suitable in your case).

Thanks Core. I've already thought of this and it is one possibility.
