Dream.in.code Members += 1

Posted 10 July 2009 - 10:43 AM

Hello everyone.

I am a computer science graduate but I have been away from programming for the past 3 years.(working in the networking field)
I'm in the process of refreshing my programming knowledge by studying C++ in my spare time and weekends. I already bought numerous books which I am using. Multiple sources are always a good way to learn. The tutorials on Dream In Code are very interesting also which made me want to register here :P .
So far I have studied the following:
#Functions,
#Conditional Statements,
#Loops
#Arrays
#Pointers
#Structures

Currently starting with Classes.

I plan to study game programming as I am fascinated in how they work. Ofcourse I am a gamer myself. :D

I also started looking at SDL code which is pretty interesting. Also read some basic Actionscript (Flash) code which seems to be fun.
However, I'll be focusing on C++ for now as because imo starting with a tough language can be beneficial sometimes.

So as you can see I just wanted to drop by and say hello. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute something to the community.

I am open for any advice :^:

Welcome to Dream.In.Code

Thanks for joining Dream.In.Code, hope to see you around the forums someday :)

You have just stepped into the greatest programming community on the Internet, we have experts for just about every mainstream language, and even some languages that aren't so mainstream, so the level of expertise is second to none. All will be more than willing to help, as long as you too are willing to put forth the effort to solve your problem, and to go along the road to becoming a better programmer smile.gif

I would like to ask that when making a programming question that you first place your code inside code tags like this :code: . This makes it much easier to read through large pieces of code, and keeps your post a little more organized.

When posting a programming question first make sure you're in the first forum, then make sure you provide as much information as you can think of that would make it easier for a 2nd pair of eyes to help you debug your issue.

If you happen to get bored (I know, it's real hard to do here) you can check out our Off Topic Caafeine Lounge, the Corner Cubical, dedicated to industry talk, or the Student Campus, dedicated to all things for students.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact myself or another staff member, and we will be more then happy to answer any questions you might have.

Hi 1a11ous. Welcome to DIC.

C++ is a tough language? Really?

Maybe it is, I don't know. I like it anyway.

At any rate, if you have questions, you now know where you can get help. http://www.dreaminco...showforum15.htm

Have fun! :D

Thank You OliveOyl,
so far so good, I'm trying to get into SDL at the same time so I started with some tutorials.
Pretty cool, I'm loving it.
