Struggling installing JDK and Eclipse on Ubuntu Netbook Remix

Posted 11 July 2009 - 10:34 PM

Hey guys/girls..

I recently bought a HP Mini, wiped it and installed UNR.... I'm trying to get eclipse installed, and I have downloaded it, and downloaded Java EE with JDK and glass fish... I'm having some troubles installing them and I can't get anything to run correctly... If someone could give me a walkthrough on some things I should be doing it'd be great.

[email protected]:~/Documents/Downloads$ fakeroot make-jpkg java_ee_sdk-5_07-linux.bin
Creating temporary directory: /tmp/make-jpkg.poAGdgRYlN
Loading plugins: blackdown-j2re.sh blackdown-j2sdk.sh common.sh ibm-j2re.sh ibm-j2sdk.sh j2re.sh j2sdk-doc.sh j2sdk.sh j2se.sh sun-j2re.sh sun-j2sdk-doc.sh sun-j2sdk.sh

Detected Debian build architecture: i386
Detected Debian GNU type: i486-linux-gnu

No matching plugin was found.
Removing temporary directory: done
[email protected]:~/Documents/Downloads$

I installed java-package and fakeroot, I found these steps here: https://help.ubuntu....EclipseWebTools

but like you see above, didn't really work out.. any help would be great.

Thanks!

Chris
