Consoles, I agree, are luxuries. Therefore, my parents have a very good reason for not getting one ([rant]or letting me buy one, although all the money I have I have won in competitions, since I don't get pocket money for my chores :crazy: , and it has probably had a huge contribution to me not being accepted into society.[/rant]).

A kid show get a computer a soon as he can talk.

I was playing around with the computer when I was very very very young.

I can't remember when I got my first computer - I was too young. I remember that it was a Tandy 1000. I think that if your kid wants a computer, you should get a him a crappy computer and make him build it up. I started with a Tandy 1000 [640KB of RAM 4-8MHz Processor ... I think it even used a 10MB hardcard] and now I'm on an a quad core computer with 8GB of RAM.

Really - the earlier the age they can learn to battle a troll or win a flame war the better they will be in the long run, right?
