Are you speaking of having a recovery CD without having the original disc? Here's how to make one with the original disc, but if you do not have the original, it may be easier to simply write your whole C drive to a ghost disc periodically, and then copy that over if something gets messed up.

by using a program called norton ghost.

Some Dells are now shipping with a make your own reinstallation disk program that can only be run 1 time that will make the install disk for you. Check the documentation that came with your computer for further information.

if you are with a company you could call them and request an evaluation of it. it will be full featured but of limited use as it only works 10 times or so. but that should be sufficiant for one pc throughout its life.

I know I requested an eval version of NAV enterprise edition and they sent 4 boxes of stuff with all the install disks and manuals and crap.

I am ready to pull the trigger come January and activate teh subscription. ( the trial subscription for my test environment was 14 days of updates. )
