College Football

As you know, Texas was # 2, and in charge of its own destiny as far as the Championship game goes. Today the season began. Came out rough but looked good at the end.
This season is crazy, our schedule is real tough, OU, OSU, those two games are enough to cause me heartache for the next 2 months... let alone the rest of the big 12 and having to be perfect.
OU's two best players who both should have gone pro have gotten hurt. sucks. I'm actually pissed OU lost because the game in dallas which i have tickets to was going to be the game of the century. It sucks because by that time they will be 100% and just as tough a challenge, but a lower ranked one. Gonna be a real tough game.
So....... Party down college fans, the season has begun.

I <3 Zlatan, especially after what he did yesterday.. Scored in the absolute last second of the game when all hope was gone..

Well, a short summary, Sweden scored after 8 minutes by a header from Olof Mellberg and then controlled the game. But after 80 minutes, Hungary scored a penalty which was correct but the result 1-1 was completely unfair as Sweden should have scored maybe 3-4 goals. In the end of the game, there was 3 minutes stop time and it had already passed when Elm passed a long ball towards Zlatan who became free with the hungarian goalie and managed to score the final goal, Sweden won by 2-1.

ZOMG!!!!!!111!!!!!one!
Just to clarify, there are people from countries outside the US who don't like American football? Really?!!? I'm shocked!
And wait...there are some people inside the US who aren't that keen on football (or soccer)?!?!? Again, shocked.
You know what would be really shocking?? If people who did not like or support a particular sport avoided the temptation to come into a thread specifically about that sport to piss and moan. Or if people who wanted to discuss a sport unrelated to the original thread began their own with the proper topic title.
One further shock to purists on both sides: there are some of us that love both sports (and more besides). Revelation - the stereotyping is meaningless in these cases. What will you do now?

Tech got defeated because our O-line has holes big enough to drive a semi through.
RE International Soccer - I love the sport, but those girls couldn't possibly be bigger drama queens about faking injuries.

I am so sick of Ohio States over rated asses - they barely squeaked by Navy and yet will get bumped up to #4 now because well they are Ohio State and the pollsters are in bed taking it the rear.
Ohio State could lose 4 games this season and will still be ranked - go figure.

i will reserve judgement on ohio state actually. navy is a tough team to play because they are so different from every other team. its a terrible job to schedule them week 1 cause a) their blocking schemes really banged up ohio state before the biggest game of the season (usc)
terrelle pryor is an athlete, he looks exactly like vince did, except hes faster and has a rocket for an arm (vince's throwing was always underrated). if he has the intangibles like vince did he might be unstoppable. but the team is definitely suspect , they may step it up vs. usc though.
@supersloth - did a&m look good at all? their forums are talking about championship lolz, they are going to get cremed.
Also, big news, the inside scoop is that bradford has a torn rotator cuff and will be out for the season. reported by sooner scoop which predicted the gresham injury announcement... thats crazy

The head chef where I just left(today as a matter of fact) would love you. He's a hardcore U of M fan and hates Ohio.
He went to yesterdays Wolverine's game and was pissed because they didn't score MORE in the second half (they were up something like 31-7 or something)

michigan should be happy with a win (after the last few years) and without ncaa sanctions (with their coach) . i think rodriguez is an unclassy coach for a historically classy program.
