scrolling background image

Hi all,
I have a three-column page with a background image. I am using background-attachment: fixed; in my css code and that works fine for the image. However, I need the content in the first column to remain in view while the rest of the page scrolls. My code is shown below - I guess it's a table or frame format. Is there a way to accomplish what I am looking to do?

.columnone {width:8em;
		   float:left;
		   text-align:justify;
		   font-family: Papyrus, "Curlz MT", "Juice ITC", Algerian, fantasy;
		   font-size: 16px;
		   color: #006347;
		   font-weight: bold;
		   padding-top:50px;
		   margin-left:2%;
}

.columntwo {
	width:40%;
	float:left;
	text-align:justify;
	margin-left:5%;
	margin-right:2%;
	top: 560px;
}

.columnthree {
	width:25%;
	float:left;
	text-align:justify;
	margin-left:2%;
	margin-right:2%;
	top: 160px;
}

In most browsers there is a CSS command position: fixed; that allows you to give it and x and y coordinate to stay no matter the scroll of the page. This does require that you implement a hack for IE though (as it doesn't support it for 6 or 7).

It is possible I misunderstood what you are attempting to do though, I hope this helps.
