Ok I'm at NMT, and we have the VPN. I'd continue to use windows. Would a second OS, like ubuntu just be taking up space?

Do you have a reasonj for installing a second OS? I've got my home machine dual booted becauseI prefer Linux, but my wife has never become comfortable with it, so I'm also running an XP boot for her...if you think you'd like to try it out, I'd say install....

Yeah, you can always take the second OS off your machine... Dual boot is a good way to learn another OS while keeping the OS your custom to.
Ubuntu is an awesome distro to start with, its very use friendly and very dual boot compatable.

There were two disks in that cd case, one was to install one was a live cd so you can try it, if you liked ubuntu then install it, if not then dont.
and only the TCC has vpn and it doesnt accept connections from the dorms
