I'm new to programming and would like to know if any of you guys have used either Ultra Edit or Slick Edit and if so which one is better in your opinion...

but seriously, I've never heard of either. A good editor will do syntax highlighting though

Of those two, I prefer Ultra Edit.

I prefer Ultra Edit too out of the two...But I use ConText.

I use simple EditPad Lite. The Pro version has syntax highlighting but I don't mind syntax highlighting much so i just use the [free] lite version.

My teacher buys us things so I got it free as well :P
