hi, i was just wondering but does windows 7 have bigger network speeds that vista or xp because i heard that vista could get more than 100Mbps for downloads, etc.. but these kinds of speeds where not available when xp was released / develepped but i'm not sure can anyone confirm this. because i'm moving on to gigabyte ethernet and i download lots of stuff plus streaming now i could stream HD 1080i amd i MIGHT get windows 7 once i get my rig up and running so is this true????

Um I don't know for certain but I'm pretty sure that XP, Vista and 7 will all have the same support for gigabit ethernet, especially if you have kept XP updated with the latest service packs.
There should be no difference in network speed between all 3 (may be wrong, that's just my opinion)

Your highest speed is going to be based on the slowest piece of networking equipment.
If you are only pulling 2 mb in your wall from your ISP, then you'll get 90% better from the the PC to the router to the modem. You'll never, ever, be able to pull more in your wall than your ISP allows.
If you have twisted pair that is wired & rated at speeds of 10/100mbps, how is the OS going to make the traffic any faster?
As it is now, XP can handle Gigabit Ethernet. So upgrading your OS alone isn't going to yield the results that you are after.
