Okay so I had some files on my Vista machine when i decided to do a clean install for Win 7. I transfered all my files that were important over to an External HD for safe keeping. Got windows 7 up and running now, and apparently Vista encrypted my files so now i have a bunch of files on the external with green writting (encrypted) and I have not been able to remove the encryption. So far I have only tried to uncheck the "Encrypt file contents..." box under properties, but I get an Access Denied message.
Anyone have any ideas about how to remove the encryption?
I dont know if anyone is going to mention this or not but I only have Win 7 Pro so BitLocker is not included.
Thanks.
Encryption AnnoyanceI just want my files back :P

Just as an update i've booted into both Ubuntu and BackTrack 3 and tried to change the permissions on the file but no luck. So ill keep trying things and if any of you have any ideas, suggestions, or random comments just give it a shot. Something has to work
ps: I've even tried opening the file in OllyDbg and IDA but they cannot open the file either
