Software Developer on the Prowl

Posted 15 October 2009 - 03:02 AM

Hey, all!

I've been kept busy the last couple months with the functional design and development of http://fishtwits.com, but that's stabilized enough for me to step back and take on some other projects for new clients.

What kind of projects am I looking for? As you can probably guess from the FishTwits application, I mostly seem to end up writing custom web applications, but that's just because it's where the main market is these days. I've also built purely server-side applications for clients which do such things as monitoring access logs, email, or user activity; extracting information from these sources; reporting unusual activity; and automating access/usage policy enforcement based on them. If you take a look around D.I.C., you may also note that I know my Perl and can explain it pretty well, so feel free to contact me if you're in need of some Perl instruction, whether one-on-one tutoring or small group (no more than 10 students) classes.

What I don't do is graphic design, but, if you have something that needs both design and programming done, I have a couple guys I've worked with before that we could get together with and have them do the design while I build the software.

For more information about my background, what kind of work I do, and how I do it, you can see my software development site at http://code.sherohman.org/what-i-do or ask here. Off-site contact information is at http://code.sherohman.org/contact or you can use a D.I.C. PM for initial contact if you'd rather keep it on-site.
