OSX DVD Player alternative

Hello there!
Does anyone know a good alternative to Apple DVD player? When I start it, it shows me a Error -70012, meaning no supported DVD drive is attatched. I have a external USB DVD drive attached. If there are any alternatives, other than VLC, MPLayer, please let me know.

yes, VLC Media Player is by far the best anyways... I never use DVD player anymore.

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

To open a disc just choose file > Open disc > choose your disc drive

haha yes, no idea why you wouldn't use VLC!
