Windows Logo under the Avatars

Posted 22 October 2009 - 09:20 AM

Now that even Windows Vista is the past, we are still using Windows XP logo under our avatars. Should it not either be changed to Vista, or a separate one for Vista be added?

I think it should be the Win7 Taskbar Orb (in glowing state), that's neat :D

I mean the complete Orb! and it's not the same as Vista's orb, it properly glows very prettily ;D

EDIT: Oh KYA.. If that was directed at the OP, Vista/7's Logo is different from XP's.

I'm sorry Mr Knowles but if you can't see the difference between
Posted Image and Posted Image
then there's something wrong with your eyes!

EDIT: I made the Vista one a little smaller (although they're both 21x21) for easier comparison..

Passive aggressive, nice.

There's VERY similar.

Since this is such a great idea why don't we get rid of the Linux penguin and get icons for each and every distro, that makes sense.

It was more humorous than aggressive :P

Indeed, but logos change over time.. This is the new one, no matter how subtle..
The old dream.in.code logo isn't so different from the new one.. But it's still updated.

Something I noticed. Why does the OS logo have the name ie. Windows, or Linux, but then the browser just says Favorite Browser instead of eg. Opera? o.O

I'm still using XP, therefore it should not be changed.

See how asinine that argument is? One person has/wants something therefore it should happen?

The logo has still evolved. You could be using an alpha version of Firefox with the blue logo, that's not a new logo for the whole software product.

Say for example Honda changed their logo, even if you had an old car you'd still want the new logo wouldn't you..

Or how about using the IE4/5 logo, both are old versions that I'm sure "some" people still use..

Maybe even IE1!
