Interesting statistic... up here in Canada there are actually more guns per capita that the united states. However we have one of the lowest gun death's rate in the world.

But decapitation on public transportation by machete is way up. It's not fair to compare the US and Canada (even by per capita) due to our diversity between states and boundaries. Canada law is more uniform across territories. Also some of our most populous states have greatly varied populations and laws...and any of them have almost as many people as all of Canada.

That's why we compare it by using "per capita", that makes it fair no matter your population. Because it's a ratio.
