On topic...I have a Chinese SKS and that's it. It works but I don't fire it much. It was really cheap.

I'm Canadian...we have an extremely restrictive firearms policy up here. Only criminals get to have guns. :)

In the middle of the night, my home defense plan is to barricade my bedroom with a dresser sitting next to the door and retreat out of the house through a window with roof access until the police arrive. Failing that, shoot to kill if forced to do so, but would much rather get out of the house.

wimp.

Nah, he's not a wimp. He just doesn't want to get the carpet messy. :)

Interesting statistic... up here in Canada there are actually more guns per capita that the united states. However we have one of the lowest gun death's rate in the world.

But decapitation on public transportation by machete is way up. It's not fair to compare the US and Canada (even by per capita) due to our diversity between states and boundaries. Canada law is more uniform across territories. Also some of our most populous states have greatly varied populations and laws...and any of them have almost as many people as all of Canada.

That's why we compare it by using "per capita", that makes it fair no matter your population. Because it's a ratio.
